Clare is a Photomedia artist working primarily in digital and performance video art. She has been a practicing artist for over 15 years and has shown in solo and group exhibitions Australia wide. She teaches in photomedia at the University of Newcastle (UoN) and previously at Newcastle Art School (Hunter Street TAFE). She is currently undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy (Fine Art) Postgraduate Degree at the University of Newcastle where her topic of research is theatre and the medicalised self.
Peta Lumley is captivated by the beauty of the body as an instrument in communicating between internal and external environments. Through improvised performance and photography mediums, Peta explores and expresses emotions, dreams and memories; capturing the essence of the ephemeral through movement, gesture and play.
Her latest work Juno embodies the themes of fertility, life force and motherhood inspired by ancient relics, deities and archetypes as she undergoes a journey of transformation. Capturing the awakening of an instinctual knowledge ingrained only within the body and psyche of a woman.
