John Heaney is a ceramic artist who learnt his skill set at the Australian National University in Canberra graduating in Ceramics in 2003. In 2007 he moved to Newcastle, where he has experimented with the materials and processes of the discipline, moving from functional to purely sculptural pieces while continuing to challenge the technical aspect of ceramics within his final pieces.
John Heaney's first solo exhibition as a Gallery 139 Artist was in May 2018 LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP which pushed the possibilities of clay while commenting on the universal emotions the love and friendship unveils.
John will also be participating in Gallery 139 at Aro in Sydney alongside fellow Gallery 139 Artists from 19 - 30 September 2018.
