Varelle Hardy’s series of collages are made from found and reused materials found during her residency in Egaliere, Provence or taken from her home in Newcastle to use during her residency. Framed store-purchased white frames with matt boarders.
“The trees leading to the Art residency in Egaliere Provence ,welcomed the start of Spring with newly sprouted shoots . Their majestic shapes were beautiful against a backdrop of rolling hills that met the distant Alpille mountains .The countryside and picturesque little villages were both magical and inspirational .During my stay in this beautiful place , I made the work for our exhibition.“ - Varelle Hardy
Margaret McBride’s Remants of History series combines found objects and mixed media to build a collage and attached to mulberry paper. This is then mounted behind a archival mount board and framed for exhibition in a sturdy store-purchased white frame.
“Time corrodes memory. What was once a true representation morphs into something less than the whole. It becomes a remnant or the residue of that memory.” - Margaret McBride Ga
