In this exhibition John Heaney pushes the possibilities of clay while commenting on the universal emotions of love and friendship.

John Heaney is an experienced ceramic artist, he learnt his skill set at the Australian National University, Canberra majoring in Ceramics. He is currently a post-graduate research candidate at The University of Newcastle where he has been experimenting with the materials and processes that ceramics offers, gradually moving from functional to purely sculptural while continuing to challenge the technical aspect of ceramics within his final pieces.

This will be Heaney first solo exhibition at Gallery 139 and also introducers him as a Gallery 139 Artist.
